Introduction

Historical Background

The current vocational and skill development training center, established in the name of Labor Supply Center, has been established in FY19 to raise the standard of living of the people below absolute poverty by creating self-employment and foreign employment opportunities by creating suitable skills for those with increasing skills due to poverty prevailing in the country in Dhangadhi, Kailali Seti zone unemployed Kora labor force in six districts from time to set up a variety of skill-based training has been providing recently. Although this vocational and skill development training center has been conducting some limited training for the first six months of its inception, it is currently conducting regular 6 months training in motorcycle repair, electrical connection, electronics and mobile repair, harvesting sewing, hair makeup, welding and plumbing training.

Due to the demand for timely training and the attraction of youths towards foreign employment, special skills development training related to youth self-employment is also being implemented. Providing skill development training to economically weaker sections of poor women and men, this center is providing training to the districts of Bajura, Bajhang, Achham, Doti and Kailali in Seti zone. The training center has also been operating under the Province Government, Sudurpaschim Province, Ministry of Social Development.

Long-term thinking

By conducting skill oriented training, preparing skilled manpower as well as training the vocational and skill oriented people in various fields as per the demands of the self-employed and national and international labor market to support in poverty alleviation.

Aim

To create skilled manpower by giving different types of skill oriented training to the unemployed Kora labor force, which is scattered in six districts of Seti zone.

Objective

  • Providing skill development training to economically weaker women and men, establishing a labor-based Kora labor force in an alternative profession and producing skilled labor force for self-employment.
  • Conduct programs in coordination and partnership with local bodies for the purpose of conducting training effectively and to serve in the public backyard.
  • To increase the access of Nepalese workers with skills in the labor market by training the Nepalese in their working area to interfere with the increasing number of foreign workers in the labor market of the country.
  • Training of Dalits, marginalized classes, liberated Kamaiyas, oppressed, conflict-affected, indigenous peoples and the most backward classes will be included in the training and help to raise their standard of living.

Future workflow

  • Training programs, curriculum materials will be modified from time to time, producing skilled manpower as per the demands of the labor market and attention will be given to the skill enhancement of the instructor.
  • While conducting the training, the trainees will be trained by conducting audiovisual and other processes by conducting classroom training on the basis of credit hours, using modern technology tools in the training rooms and experimental rooms.
  • Arrangements will be made to take special initiative for employment by monitoring the trainees who have / have not been trained.
  • An action plan will be planned to keep the morale of the training center staff high.

Priority actions

  • Training should be carried out as per the demand of local and national / international labor market.
  • Residential training should be conducted for the unemployed, in the remote areas and under the backdrop of Dalits, tribes and other poor.
  • Professional skills training should be conducted with qualitative rather than numerical considerations.
  • Trained trainees need to be trained in entrepreneurship to become entrepreneurs.
  • Regular training should be followed by time-consuming curriculum to provide machine tools and training materials, and training of skills enhancement to the trainers.
  • While conducting training in all types of training, special priority should be given to the training of indigenous women, disabled, Janajaji, Dalit and conflict victims.

Goals

Regular (6 months and upgrading training)

Regular training (6 months) in this center will be conducted in more detail including electrical connection, plumbing, motorcycle repair, harvesting sewing, hair makeup, electronics and mobile repair, hairdresser upgrading, harvesting sewing upgrading, etc. For the above mentioned electronics and mobile repair training, those who have passed the 5th grade and those who have passed the 2nd grade in the remaining training are being participated.

Young Self-employed Training (Basic)

Youth Self-Employment Training (Basic) Basic Training (3 months) Youth Self-Employment Training at the local level or local level for such topics as Ducker, carpenter, electrical connection, mobile repair, handmade (embroidered), hairdressing, harvesting, sewing, ready-to-wear design, plumbing, etc. On recommendation, Seti can be operated in six districts.

Traditional short-term training

Traditional short-term training (7 days) Traditional short-term training on topics like haircut (warwar), general (motor winding), sewing machine repair, hand caution, dals and cushion making etc. can be operated in six districts of Seti zonal on the recommendation of local level or local level.

Personal Assistance: After conducting 6 months regular training conducted by this center, the trainees who have been doing business related issues have selected the best one from each of the training and provide material assistance.
